Hoops

HOOPS
In this book "Hoops" I read to page 29.This book is about basketball and is very similar to the book I had read before "Slam".In this book the main character is trying to figure out what he is going to do with his life after he gets out oh high school. I can relate because I alsolike the main character dont seem to know what I am going to do afterschool is over. In the book the main character mentions thta there are times where he doesnt do anything but sit down and try to figure out his next move. I have also done this because when i was younger I too had goals and dreams that now seem like will never become reality so I have to do something else.

Slam extended

I like this book and i would recommend it. The people I would most recomend it too are people who like playing basketall or any other sport. I would recomend this book because I really enjoyed reading it and it is about a great story. This book is very detailed especially when it describes whats going on in the court. I really liked the way the author wrote it. My favoirite parts of the book are when Slam and his team play basketball. Slam is having a hard time at home and on the streets, yet whenever he gets in the court all of that disapears and he plays his best. The only weakness I noticed of this book is it does not have a strong vocabulary.

SLAM

The book that i am reading is called "Slam" by Walter Dean Myers . the book is about a 16 year old high school junior who loves to play basketbal but has an atittude problem.on top of that Gregory better known as Slam might be losing his best friend to the drug world and he also has trouble getting his grades together.

Slam loves to play basketball and thats all he wants to do, play basketball. Still Slam is having difficulty because his new coach doesnt like him and he is also having problems with some of the players on his team. Slam 's life seems to be going through a rough treck because things just5 dont seem to be going his way.

This book is interesting and although i havent finished reading it I think a possible theme might be that things dont always go your way and getting angry wont help but instead you have to try to deal with your problems directly.

I read the book "Shattering Glass" by Gail Giles. In the book the entire story is being narrated by the perspective of a guy who commited a murder. The book is about a group of teens who try to change the life of the school geek by turning him popular. Through out the story the narrator does not let you know whats about to happen. The author leaves you wondering through out the book in suspensful twist and turns till the climax. The ending is surprising and interesting.

Today i started reading the book "Monster" i read to page 27 and i thought the beggining of the book was interesting. The book's start attracted my attention because it came from the point of view of a prisoner. The book is writen in the form of a movie. It looks like a script and through out the story the author includes everything that the character is doing (like an actor). The book is about a 16 year old teenager who is being charged with felony murder. Steve Harmon ,the main character is on trial because he was involved in a robbery of a store where the owner was fataly wounded with his own gun. Through out the book "Monster" small pieces of a notebook belonging to Steve Harmon are included. These small pieces tell about Steve's experience so far. Although i am still in the beggining of the book i am predicting that a might be a good book.

"I reach in and wrap my fingers around a triangle of glass. I hold it to Andy Evans neck. He freezes."-page195.. This is a quote from the book Speak when Melinda and Andy are in the utility closet by themselves. Melinda picks up a glass and uses it as a weapon of defense. I chose this quote because it is my favorite from the book. It is my favorite because this is the part where
Melinda finally fights back against Andy Evans.
